Bio:I made this journal to write about my goals and the productive things I do on a daily basis.

Every day, I will post my list of goals to accomplish for that day, and the things I accomplished the previous day.

If you wish to participate, leave comments, and I will include your goals in my posts too, and keep track of your goals and progress.

Here are my thoughts on goals and productivity:

A lot of people have goals or dreams that they want to reach, but have trouble finding the motivation to work towards them, even if they are things that are enjoyable to do. Sometimes we trap ourselves in negative thinking by putting too much pressure on getting to our goals, or maybe not enough pressure, or psychological complexes like fear of failure or fear of success. And suddenly, a simple task can seem very difficult to do.

But the truth is, once we start working towards our goals, we find that we are enjoying ourselves, we feel happier and more confident, and we have more motivation to keep going. Well I don't know about you, but that is definitely true for me! When I get started working on something I care about, my whole attitude can change.

So far, I have found that setting a reasonable goal every day has helped me to not only get things done, but also to feel better about my progress. If I've finished that one goal, then I've done enough, and no beating myself up over not having accomplished more. Often, after finishing the one goal, I feel motivated enough to continue on and work on more things. But if I don't, then I can relax and enjoy myself knowing that I have done enough for that day.

I used to try to set up goals for an entire week, making tasks for each day of the week. Maybe this works for some people, but I have found that it puts too much pressure on me because I'm no longer concentrating on the one task right in front of me, I'm thinking about 7 days worth of tasks.

Anyway, I started this journal because I have also found that it helps to have people around you who are also working towards goals. It creates a little bit of competition and some outside pressure. And it also makes a huge difference to know that other people are interested in what you are doing and encouraging you to finish it. If it helps, you can even post the results of your hard work (if applicable).

So join me in posting your goals! They don't have to be daily like mine. Do what works for you, however often the goals are. But I think that the first step is definitely setting a goal and a deadline for yourself, and really deciding to do it.

Some tips on setting goals and getting things done:

* Break large goals down into small, manageable tasks. This can make things seem a lot less daunting, and more approachable.
* Make reasonable goals for deadlines. Start out small, if you try to make too many goals in too short a time, you might discourage yourself if you don't reach all your goals.
* Focus on the positive. Don't get discouraged, even if you didn't finish everything you set out to do. If you made any progress at all, then that's something to feel good about!
* Have faith! Focus on taking each step, even though it may seem like small progress, over time it will add up and you will get where you're going.
* Just do it!!
